Lord, that I may see

Lord, that I may see

“And as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me. And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me. And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee. And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus. And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight. And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.” (Mark 10,46-52)

Here, Jesus met the blind Bartimaeus, who refused to let the crowd stop him from coming to Jesus and asking Him for healing. How sad it is that when someone wants to come to the Lord Jesus, they face resistance from others. Often even from their own family members, or worse yet, from “religious people.” These people have not understood who Jesus Christ truly is, and in their dark hearts, they even want to prevent others from attaining salvation. I believe every true Christian has had to experience this in their own circle. But a true Christian, of course, does not let the opinions of others prevent them from coming to Jesus. Where there is honey, the bees gather, and that is a good thing.

The blind Bartimaeus also prevailed, and his persistence was rewarded. I would like to take this opportunity to address another aspect: spiritual blindness. For there are far more people who, in their spiritual condition, are completely blind to the spiritual world. By their own admission, “they only believe what they see.” Can these people see electricity? Or can they see the sun’s rays, or nuclear power? Of course not, but they can see and experience their effects!

And so, in principle, every person is capable of experiencing the reality of the spiritual world, if only they are willing. God speaks to His people through the prophet Jeremiah, saying: “If you seek me, you will find me. Indeed, if you seek me with all your heart, I will let myself be found by you. This is my promise, says the LORD. I will turn your fortunes around for the better.” (Jeremiah 29:13–14)

Many seek fulfillment in esotericism and the occult, which naturally leads to different outcomes. I strongly advise against this, as does Holy Scripture. Through such practices, one opens the door wide to satanic demons, and that is something we certainly do not want!

We want to know Jesus Christ as he truly is—namely, God from the beginning and for all eternity, Amen. These are not my words, but those of Jesus Christ himself, in person!

“I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.”(Apocalipsis 22,13-17)

“Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.”(2. Corinthians 5,20)

“Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I too want to see. I ask you to open the eyes of my heart to you and your truth. I want to know you and recognize you as you truly are. Please help me to walk in the paths you have prepared for me, and guide me into all truth through your Holy Spirit. To you be the glory, the honor, and the praise for this. Amen.”

God bless you.
