There is a 'too late'

Walking on Mars - Generated by AI

I fulfilled a long-cherished dream and celebrated my 50th birthday in Miami Beach. That was about 3 weeks before the total corona lockdown! I had a wonderful time there, but one morning a lady from hotel security asked me if I had heard about the tragic accident involving NBA star Kobe Bryant.

I hadn’t heard about it

This world-famous basketball player had crashed his helicopter into a rock face in the morning due to visibility problems in the fog and all the occupants, including his daughter, had died.

It can happen that quickly!

Just a moment ago, carefree in his most beautiful “toy” and then the sudden end. So suddenly that it wasn’t even enough for a last prayer! How terrible! No more chance to repent of his sins. No more chance to call out to Jesus and therefore no more chance of forgiveness of sins.

“He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.” That is the hard truth! We must not belittle the sacrificial death of Jesus, because it is our only chance to escape hellfire! (1 John 5:12)

But the end of a life doesn’t always have to be so spectacular. My aunt toppled over in the stairwell with the shopping in her hands and was dead. She got a heart attac. She too had no chance of a prayer. She died godlessly and went into eternity like that, even though she had heard the gospel from various people in our family for years beforehand. At some point, the end of the line is reached. Nobody is kidnapped into heaven, there are only volunteers there.

“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”(Hebrews 9:27)

We don’t know whether Kobe Bryant was involved with Jesus before he died or whether he was just concentrating on his sport. It is a private matter. But it is a private matter that determines the whereabouts of every human soul in eternity! Heaven or hell is determined by our relationship with Jesus Christ, which is why I am writing this to you today! And be sure of one thing, church membership or membership in a religious community does not save anyone from eternal damnation! It does not say “the church is the way, the truth and the life”, but “I (Jesus Christ) am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)

And because it is so immensely important for our whereabouts in eternity, the Bible says: “While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.” (Hebrews 3:15)

“For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” (2 Corinthians 6:2)

Do not be careless about your whereabouts in eternity! I would also like to point out that man cannot decide for Jesus Christ when it is convenient for him, that is important to know! Man can only find God in the times when he is called by the Spirit and thus the heart is opened by God, so don’t miss your chance today and acknowledge Jesus as Lord and God!

“Lo, all these things worketh God oftentimes with man, To bring back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of the living.” (Job 33:29-30)

Accept the Lord Jesus as your Lord and Savior in prayer. If you don’t know how to do this, then you are welcome to use “The Life-Changing Prayer” here on this website.

I have written it for this purpose.
