The marriage of the lamb

And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. (Revelation 19:6-8)
Dear reader, do you know that as a Christian you have been chosen to take part in the greatest event the universe has ever seen? And that’s not all, you will be a major part of this event! Did you know that you are betrothed to the Lord Jesus Christ when you become a Christian? That is true, and one day you will be married (in the spiritual sense) to the Lord Jesus Himself if you stay with Him in good times and bad times here on earth and do not fall away from Him.
Listen to the words of the great apostle Paul, which he writes to the church in Corinth, which he himself founded through his missionary activity: “For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.” (2 Corinthians 11:2)
When we talk about the marriage of the Lamb (the Lamb is a biblical image of Jesus Christ, “the Lamb of God”), there are two main questions. Who is the bride and when does the wedding take place?
“Who is the bride of Jesus Christ?”
The answer is: “The Bride” is Christians from every nation, tribe and people of the earth who have truly repented of their sinful ways and have been saved by faith in the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ, who have not become lukewarm but have focused on this one goal in their lives (to be the Bride of God) denied themselves, took up the cross and followed in the footsteps of Jesus. This does not mean that one no longer commits sin, but that sin is rejected in principle and one lives with Christ, helps to build his kingdom and serves God in one way or the other.
“After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; 10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. 11 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, 12 Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.” (Revelation 7:9-11)
Jesus himself gave us a stark warning in Matthew 25 that lukewarm Christians are in danger of being left behind when the predicted Rapture of Christianity to heaven takes place, and in Christ’s discourse it was 50% of the “virgins” (symbolic of Christianity) who were left behind!
“Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.” (Matthew 25,1-13)
These Christians are not completely lost, but they are left behind because they were not truly committed to Christ, but lived for their own desires and abused God’s grace to live a selfish life, so that they will now be “tested by fire” in the coming “time of great tribulation.” Then they must prove that they truly belong to Christ because they must confess Christ before the coming “system of antichrist” and become martyrs because of their confession, or they deny Christ to save their lives here on earth, but go to hell 100%. That’s not my opinion, that’s exactly what it says in the Revelation of John.
The next question is when the marriage of the Lamb will take place, and the answer is that it will take place after an event that the Bible calls “the Rapture”. The term rapture in the biblical context describes the supernatural phenomenon of a person being physically transferred from the earthly world to a heavenly realm or another part of the world. Some of these events are described in the Old and New Testaments. (Wikipedia)
The marriage feast of the Lamb (Jesus Christ) will take place in heaven when Satan really gets going here on earth! This wedding feast will last 7 years, the same 7 years in which the world will have to eat the fruits of its rebellion against God, because the lukewarm Christians and non-Christians left behind will have to suffer through the worst time in human history under the rule of Satan (in the person of the Antichrist). All this is predicted in the writings about the Apocalypse.
In the letter to the church of Laodicea, Jesus says this: “Since you are neither hot nor cold, but lukewarm, I will spit you out of my mouth.” These are words that none of us like to hear, so let’s be careful with our inheritance. What is our inheritance? Our unshakable and eternal inheritance is to sit next to Christ on the eternal throne as His bride, judging the nations and angels! Yes, we are called to judge the fallen angels who have made our lives here so miserable.
“To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.” (Revelation 3:21-22)
“Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?” (1 Corinthians 6:2-3)
Nothing should have a higher priority in our lives than this. No matter how bad the circumstances of this life wear us down, let us continue to focus on our eternal goal, as the apostle Paul did. He said these words in Philippians 3:12-14: “Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
So let’s always focus on our goal and not become lukewarm. If there is anyone who is lukewarm, repent, come back to Jesus, start studying the Bible again and help build the kingdom of God by saving souls for Christ, that will keep you hot and if you are not yet saved by the blood of Jesus, you better ask Him for your salvation now. Amen
